Downtown Reno Casinos and ShowsDowntown is Still the Center of Reno's Casino and Entertainment Acti
Stay downtown and enjoy access to half a dozen casinos and their showrooms. Enjoy big name entertainment along with traditional casino shows.
Downtown Reno is still the heart of the casino action in town, even though other resorts have sprung up south of town. Besides the casinos, resorts have invested in the Downtown Reno Events Center, and the Reno Ballroom, where you can see entertainment in a non-casino environment. There are resorts on the edges of downtown, like the Siena and the Sands, but on Virginia Street, right in the heart of Reno, these are your casino resort choices. Circus CircusCircus Circus is the most family oriented casino downtown, offering circus acts throughout the day, and a kids arcade and midway carnival with all kinds of games and attractions. If you stay at Circus Circus, you can access the Silver Legacy and Eldorado casinos via skywalks, and you can use their facilities, like the pool and health spa, too (for a small fee). You can find Circus Circus at: Circus Circus Hotel Casino 500 North Sierra Street 329-0711 or 800-648-5010 ClubCalNeva Located across the street from Harrah's on Center Street, the Cal Neva is a locals' favorite because of the ultra-cheap food and old-school casino atmosphere. They also offer one of the biggest and most respected sports books in town. They have a cabaret stage, cheap rooms, and very reasonable dining options. You can find the Club Cal Neva at: Club Cal Neva 140 North Virginia Street 877-777-7303 Eldorado Hotel CasinoThe Eldorado is still locally family-owned, and it's one of the locals' favorites downtown. Known for their high-quality restaurants, La Strada and Roxy offer some great dining choices, and the Eldorado Buffet has just been remodeled and expanded. Some of the most popular clubs inside casinos are located inside the Eldorado, like the Bu Binga lounge, and the Roxy martini bar. They also offer an outdoor swimming pool, spa, and free shuttle service from the airport, and one of the most comfortable showrooms in Reno. You can find the Eldorado Hotel Casino at: Eldorado Hotel Casino 345 North Virginia Street 800-777-5325 Fitzgerald's - Update as of 11/30/2008, Fitzgerald's is ClosedFitzgerald's isn't as big as some of the other downtown resorts, but it's the closest to the famous Reno arch, and some people like it just because it's a bit smaller and more intimate. Decorated and created around an Irish theme, you can find Irish fare in the resort's restaurants, and try your luck in the Lucky Forest before you hit the casino floor. Rooms tend to be a bit more economical here, because they don't have the upscale spas and such some other resorts offer. You can find Fitzgerald's at: Fitzgeralds Casino & Hotel 255 North Virginia Street 800-535-LUCK Harrah's Reno One of the original gaming properties in Reno, Harrah's was founded by local Bill Harrah, and now it's one of the largest gaming corporations in the country. Harrah's offers some great dining at the AAA 4-diamond rated Steak House, along with a health spa, beauty shop, tanning salon, swimming pool, showroom, fitness center, massages, and thousands of feet of casino floor. The rooms are older, but clean, and it's right in the center of the casino action. You can find Harrah's Reno at: Harrah's Reno 219 North Center Street 775-786-3232 or 800-427-7247 Silver Legacy ResortThe Silver Legacy is Reno's newest resort casino and the home of the incredible mining machine under the huge dome over the casino floor. The resort offers everything from a buffet to fine dining, a entertainment pavilion, a health spa and outdoor pool, and Rum Bullions Island Bar, a popular local club. They offer an ultra-health spa too, with Swedish massage and much more. You can find the Silver Legacy at: Silver Legacy Resort 407 Virginia Street 800-687-8733
