While Las Vegas is more famous for its adult-friendly amusements, families with children can still enjoy a variety of fun activities.
Las Vegas is more than just casinos and showgirls. Families with children can still enjoy a Vegas getaway if they know where to look. Vegas Hotels for FamiliesAlthough it is one of the Strip’s older hotels, Circus Circus offers fun for kids of all ages. Featuring daily live circus shows and a large indoor theme park, Circus Circus stands out as an ideal family-friendly hotel in Vegas. Excalibur is another hotel choice for families. Kids will love staying in a “castle” and will enjoy a variety of Midway games and a SpongeBob Squarepants ride. Grown-up Hotels, Kid-friendly FunMost hotels on the Vegas strip feature incredible pools when families need to cool off from the desert heat. And several hotels feature attractions that will amuse kids from toddlers to teens. The MGM Grand features a lion exhibit (they are behind glass), New York, New York and Stratosphere boast outdoor thrill rides, and Mandalay Bay has a large aquarium and several outdoor pools that simulate a beach experience. Other Activities on the Las Vegas StripFamilies needn’t confine themselves to the hotels to have fun on the Las Vegas Strip. Young children will enjoy M&Ms World and Coke World (both featuring samples of the famous products), and both children and grown-ups can appreciate the free tram rides between Mandalay Bay, Luxor, and Excalibur. The kids can experience some culture on a gondola ride at the Venetian or “see” some celebrities at Madame Tussaud’s Wax Museum. Families can cap off a day of experiences up and down the Strip by viewing the nightly pirate show in front of the Treasure Island hotel or by watching the fountain show that takes place every 15 minutes in front of the Bellagio. Who’s Watching the Kids in Vegas? While no hotels on the Vegas strip feature on-site child care, parents in need of a night to themselves can usually contact the front desk for a list of available local babysitters who will come to the casino hotels. There are, however, hotels near to the Strip featuring on-site child care for guests (The Palms and The Orleans, for example) who want to schedule some grown-up time into their family vacation. Las Vegas: Fun for All AgesParents who want a family-friendly vacation don’t have to eliminate Las Vegas from their list of options. Both the hotels along the Vegas Strip and the Strip itself are packed full of activities that should appeal to toddlers, teens, and their parents, thus ensuring a fun family vacation for all.
