Las Vegas has some of the most elaborate hotels in the world; discover a selection of Vegas Strip hotels and what each has to offer the visitor, before arriving in Vegas.

Las Vegas, located in the middle of the Nevada desert, was initially most famous for gambling, drinking and partying but today Las Vegas is becoming popular as a spa and family destination too. Although Las Vegas will always be popular for its casinos, strip clubs and parties, the face of Vegas is also changing to incorporate other types of visitors.

Choosing where to stay from one of the many hotels to be found in Las Vegas can depend on what the visitor plans to do with their time in Vegas; however, choosing to stay in one of the Las Vegas hotels on the famous 'Vegas Strip' will emerge the visitor in the center of the action, regardless of their plans once in Vegas.

As more families seek Las Vegas as a family vacation destination, many Vegas hotels are marketing themselves as 'family-friendly'. On the Vegas Strip, popular hotels which are fun for families include the fun Circus Circus which has 3,770 rooms with modern conveniences; in addition to 3 full size casinos, Circus Circus has fun for all the family including the Carnival Midway, rollercoaster inside the Adventuredome, Circus Acts, many restaurants and Vegas wedding packages.

Spa Hotels on the Vegas Strip: Excalibur and Bellagio

Las Vegas is fast becoming a 'hot' spa destination; although many of the luxury spa hotels are located away from the Vegas Strip, Excalibur manages to incorporate spa luxury with fun entertainment, right on the Las Vegas Strip. Historic Hotels on the Vegas Strip: Sahara

The Sahara hotel is located at the northern end of the Las Vegas Strip and has had a glamorous history since its opening in 1952; famous guests of the Sahara have included Elvis Presley, the Beatles and Marilyn Monroe. The Sahara hotel was also the setting for the original Ocean's Eleven movie and a popular hang-out for the Rat Pack.

The Sahara hotel has over 1,700 rooms at affordable budget prices; other amenities at the Sahara hotel include the casino, some of the best Vegas shows, restaurants and the NASCAR Cafe Las Vegas Entertainment Center. Hotels with the 'Wow' Factor on the Vegas Strip

It can probably be said that all the hotels located on the Vegas Strip provoke some sort of 'wow' factor; Las Vegas leaves nothing out when it comes to glitz and glamor! However, the Stratosphere hotel has the tallest observation tower in the U.S., soaring 1,149 feet into the air, Treasure Island is fronted by a huge lake with large pirate ships which perform nightly and Caesar's Palace has a roman forum full of shops.
