Las Vegas, Nevada may be the best place in the world to experience buffet style dining. Love it or hate it, there really is nothing quite like a Champagne brunch.

Most of the hotels, both on and off the strip, offer a Champagne buffet on the weekends. The trick is to choose one that has great food, ambiance and plentiful champagne service.

Although brunch is very popular at both of these hotels, each one has positive and negative sides to dining there. The easiest way to choose is by the price and location.

Bally’s Las Vegas – Sterling Brunch

The Sterling Brunch may be the epitome of the buffet brunch. Located in Bally’s Steakhouse this sumptuous buffet is a Champagne lover’s heaven. The attentive service here ensures that the crystal flute remains full at all times and the Sterling Brunch is one of the few that actually serves REAL Champagne.

Fresh broiled lobster and massive plates of crab claws are delicious. The carving station offers beef tenderloin and rack of lamb and then there is the boozy Bananas Foster for dessert. What is odd is that while the bubbly is plentiful, trying to get more than one tiny cup of caviar at a time is near impossible. Multiple trips to the caviar station may be needed.

Bally’s may be a little old fashioned in comparison to the new, flashier hotels on the strip, but the service here is superb. Plus the location makes it perfect for catching a show later on that evening.

  • Pros – Impeccable service, the American Sturgeon Caviar and unlimited Perrier Jouët.
  • Cons – Boring casino décor, small dining room and crowded buffet area.
  • Price – $85.00 plus tax and tip

3645 Las Vegas Blvd South: Sunday 9:30 am - 2:30 pm. Reservations are needed.

Main Street Station – Garden Court Buffet Champagne Brunch

Main Street may not be the most well known casino in town but it is the most fascinating. Filled with artifacts of all types, history buffs will want to grab the pamphlet and self guided walking tour from the front desk.

Buffalo Bill’s rail car, chandeliers from the San Francisco Opera house as well as street lamps from Belgium are among the antiques located throughout Main Street Station. There is even a piece of the Berlin Wall installed in the men’s restroom.

The Garden Court Buffet is huge so regardless of personal tastes and desires there really is something here for everyone. Main Street regulars rave about the Kahlua pork from the carving station. The service here is friendly and they pour liberally but don’t expect to be fawned over, especially if it’s busy. Afterwards, head over to Fremont Street or book a tour to see old casino signs in The Neon Museum’s Boneyard.

  • Pros – Spacious, bright dining room and a casino filled with antiques.
  • Cons – Good (not great) food, sparkling wine and popular with large groups.
  • Price – $10.99 plus tax and tip

200 N. Main Street: Saturday and Sunday 7:00 am - 3:00 pm.

Indulging in a Champagne brunch while visiting Las Vegas is a delicious, intoxicating addition to any weekend. The only danger is the loss of inhibition that goes hand in hand with multiple glasses of Champagne and a few extra pounds.
